Charging Backerkit Orders

Hi. Amy here. This should have been in the update earlier, but by the time I thought to ask it, the thirty-minute window I'm given to edit my updates had closed.
I'll get right to the point: I'd like to begin charging your cards for BackerKit orders as soon as possible, but, transparency, so I should tell you why.
I have a lot of medical bills. I've quit my day job in anticipation of a move, and thanks to really bad timing on behalf of some billing department somewhere, my bank account suddenly became overdrawn by...I'm not comfortable saying the amount, but a lot. A lot a lot.
With the portion of the BackerKit money that I'm paying myself with, I could wipe out the remaining bills and get my bank account in order before either can mess up my credit rating. Please rest assured that not a penny of money not allocated to me will be spent on my problems.
As such, I'd like to begin charging your cards for BackerKit orders in one month, on July 10. I sincerely hope that you can find it in your hearts to understand.
Oh, right, and if you need to change your address or billing information, tell me now, because I won't be able to edit them after I bill you!
June Progress Update / PDF Next Month

Hey, God Hunters! Amy here.
Here is the plan for next month. I hope you got your Backerkit profile all set up (and if you didn't, go here right now!), because next month on July 10 I'm going to distribute the Kamigakari Beta PDF through that service. You'll get a link to where you can download it through Dropbox, probably, and I'll send an update here, but it'll be pretty sparse, since the beta is kind of the big event I had for July. I don't know exactly what time of day, but it'll be available that day as soon as possible!
As a reminder, this PDF will be the game's raw text. There might be tables, at least. If you saw the fan translation, think that kind of production value. If you haven't, it's going to be a copy of the word document with all the text assembled and formatted the same. We're saving the good stuff for the final PDF!
Another important note: Due to the delay, the beta will be pre-editing. That means it's subject to change! If you see typos or confusingly worded text, there'll be a channel on the Kamigakari fan Discord where you can voice your concerns directly to us. It's still leaps and bounds better than the fan translation, and I want to show you what we've been working on!

You're Not Getting Charged Next Week

Amy here. There'll be an update as always next week, detailing the plan for releasing the Kamigakari raw text document. For now, there's a much more important question that was asked in another comments section that I should inform you all about now!
YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL NOT BE CHARGED BY BACKERKIT ON JUNE 12 AS PREVIOUSLY INDICATED.
That money is for printing the book and stuff, and we just don't need that yet due to the delays. I'll give at least one month's warning when your card will actually be charged, and if that's not good enough, say so in the comments for this update and I'll make an announcement sooner than that. I haven't figured out a better payment date yet, so I can't just say it now, or I would!
May Progress Update

Hey, God Hunters. Amy here. Not a lot to say. We've all gotten sick at one point or another, me more than anyone else. No new delays, now that we know to watch for them. We're also going to have someone come by and make sure we're not getting hassled by demons or some ancestor spirit that's upset that we don't call enough. It should be fine.
In some good news, a new Kamigakari book is coming out in Japan! It's a list of monsters and new things you can do with the monsters you have, and it's literally called "Shinkai Yakou" ( 神怪夜行 ) which literally means Gods and Monsters Night Parade. That's a baller name, if you ask me. So baller, in fact, that another game company already used that name in America. So we need another one. Oh well.
Love that cover art. If you look back, this is the book Rikizo talked about in our interview with him! This guy might have to jump the list, as far as US release order goes.

Hey, God Hunters. Amy here. Early update and no joke about what kind of supernatural adventure I got into this month because I have some bad news. Kamigakari: God Hunters will not make its original release date. We're all tremendously sorry. I don't know what else to say.
Near the end of the kickstarter, multiple members of Serpent Sea Games, myself included, lost their jobs and had to spend some time scrambling to find new ones, get on worker's compensation, etc. A couple others among us, again myself included, got sick. One of our translators is currently out with a herniated disc. Everything proceeded normally, but the hiccups that these circumstances brought forth continued to pile up. We thought we had it all under control, but little things kept building up and we still found ourselves in this position. Arclight has been made aware, and they're not mad. I hope you're not, either.
Our plan is just to keep working and supporting each other as best as possible, and to provide a consolation prize on the original release date: A PDF of the completed Kamigakari: God Hunters manuscript. This document will be exclusively available to backers and feature the complete retranslated text with no art or layout, and hopefully will be enough to hold everyone over. The new planned release dates are:
- Free Backer-Only Manuscript - July 2019
- PDF - Q3 2019
- Wall Scroll and Print on Demand - Q4 2019
- Print - Q2 2020
I cannot apologize enough. I tried to present a feeling that everything was okay when it wasn't, and that flew right in the face of the spirit of transparency I promoted. I'm going to do better in the future and get a set release date as soon as possible
